“LIFE IN THE TROPICS” PROVIDES INSPIRATION FOR RE-NOWNED ARTIST

 

February’s ‘Artist of the month’  exhibition in the Cardwell Library foyer  displays the talents of local artist SALLY MORONEY in capturing the alluring landscapes of the Cassowary Coast.

Sally  is an artist – jeweler  at  present working from a rainforest studio near the sea in Mission Beach

Born in the UK she grew up exploring the Sydney bushland and developed a love of nature and natural beauty

This artists work reflects this love of the environment and she incorporates natural and recycled materials in her art, which encompasses painting jewellery basketry crochet and sculpture.

Sally has a diploma of Visual Arts (Fine Arts) from Cooloola-Sunshine TAFE and has run her own art business since 1969.

She is also passionate about art and environment education and runs workshops for adults and children.

This current exhibition is part of the on-going support the Cardwell Gallery gives to local member artists with an opportunity to showcase their work to a broader section of the community.
