WILDLIFE CARER CAPTURES HER SUBJECTS ON CANVAS

Judy Netterfield is a long term resident of the area, living on a farm in the Kennedy Valley just north of Cardwell

Since retiring some years ago Judy has dedicated  her life to caring for a menagerie of farm animals, including miniature horses,  as well as caring and rehabilitating orphaned and injured wildlife. This close affinity with wildlife has enabled her to catch the character and movement of her subjects in her art work.

Her works vary in both medium and subject, ranging from delicately detailed wildlife paintings to expansive abstract works to fine pen and ink drawings.

This current mini-exhibition “The Nature of Cardwell” depicts glimpses of the surrounding countryside as well as capturing the ‘moods’ of the local wildlife as in the painting below ‘The Guardians’,  where a hostile curlew is protesting the closeness of a potential foe.

Judy is highly valued as long time treasurer of Hinchinbrook Regional Arts and volunteers on a regular basis at the Cardwell Gallery.

Her exhibition will run in the Cardwell Library as part of the Ártist of the Month program until June 30th.
