Cardwell Gallery - Artists, writers and creative folk

Our region is an inspirational place for artists.

Our artists are diverse in their art practice with some working professionally and others creating for the pure pleasure and relaxation that art can bring to their lives in the far north tropics. Many are inspired by the rich and varied landscapes, wildlife and lifestyles or this beautiful part of tropical Australia.

Our art group and gallery is based in the small coastal village of Cardwell, far north Queensland. We are perched on the edge of the Coral Sea, looking out towards the World Heritage Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. We have magnificent vistas of the majestic peaks of Hinchinbrook Island and the sanctuary of the Brook Isles, Bedarra, Dunk and Goold Islands are all just offshore.

Our warm tropical waters are home to Dugong and Turtles. On a calm day, when the water's surface turns to glass, you can actually hear them break the surface of the water and draw breath. If our ocean vistas are not inspiration enough, we have a backdrop of the Wet Tropics World Heritage listed Cardwell & Kirrima Ranges, dense and ancient rainforests, thundering tropical rivers, crystal clear tropical streams and some of the rarest and most precious creatures on earth.

Inspiration indeed for all forms of art and creativity!Artists_-_Cardwell_Gallery_2018.jpg
