Karen Pertot is an Australian artist who has been painting since the late 1990’s.

Her artistic journey began with acrylics, a medium she worked with for many years before transitioning to watercolours in recent times. This shift was inspired by extensive travel throughout South East Asia, where the portability and delicacy of watercolour became a natural companion to life on the move.

Now living in Cardwell Queensland, Karen is surrounded by an abundance of natural beauty that deeply inspires her work. She draws particular inspiration from the birds and insects that inhabit the lush tropical environment around her. Through the subtle layers and soft luminosity of watercolour, she seeks to capture the fragility, movement, and quit wonder of these subjects.

Her paintings celebrate nature’s small details and fleeting moments, inviting the viewer to slow down and observe the delicate balance of the natural world.
