Senior Cultural Award - Congratulations to our member Dot Brophy!

SENIOR CULTURAL AWARD - Dorothy Brophy

As a dedicated member of the Cardwell Seaside Quilters, Dorothy Brophy was the leading designer and facilitator of a commemorative quilt celebrating 150 years of Cardwell’s history.  Dot dedicated hours of research to the project, covering historic events as well as iconic activities and features of the area. She developed the quilt’s  design, decided on the materials and facilitated the team quilting project.  The unveiling and presentation of the finished quilt to the Cardwell district took place as part of Landing Day during Cardwell’s 150^th anniversary celebrations last January.
